supporting the work of the Christian Churches in India

Bishop Samuel has kept us in touch with their relief efforts for the people on the coast who sufferred terrible tragedy through the Tsunami earthquake and subsequent tidal wave. He writes:

'I am happy to inform you what the actual work which we are doing for the peoples those who are affected. Since 28th Dec evening we are collecting rice, clothes, and necessary things what they are presently need.

I am pleased to inform you that our Bible College staff and students, pastors are heavily engaged in collecting clothes, rice and other needful things from the people in our area.

It is very hard job yet the Lord is enabling us to do His work, so that we could show the real Love of Jesus.

Our District Collector talked with me and he asked our Diocese wouldd extend finance support and give some materials. Many organisations has come forward to support the affected people. And some organisation has adopted the villages. The preventative measures has been taken by different organisations.

Sudden epidemic of Cholera, dysentry due to contaminated drinking water by decomposed bodies. The Indian army is helping to bury the bodies. It is really an heartbreaking occurance.

Thousands and thousands want to have food, proper care, medicine and shelter. Today our District collector asked all voluntary organisations to provide rice, oil, kerosene, cooking vessels, tooth paste, soap, mattresses, blankets, torch lights, water bottles, vitamin tablets and some preventive tablets.

Our Diocese want to support at least 5000 people. This is our vision and mission.

At present we collected more than 1000kg rice. We are prayerfully planning to give Rs. 1000 each and 10Kg rice and other materials what we collected to 5000 people.

I shall be much thankful to you if you support. We are prayerfully expecting great finance support from you and our sponsors or Rhema Partnership.

Please send all the contributions as soon as possible. I sent our pastors to the spot to visit and are planning to go to the spot myself on 20th January - Thursday.

Our collecting food material work will be up to 15th Saturday, from 16th onwards we are packing all the materials.

Looking forward to hearing from you. With love and prayers.

Yours in His Mission work. ........'
